Feeder Calves (halter)
Participants must check Livestock in by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16. Animals will be on display until the closing of Fair activities. Feeder calves must weigh less than 750 lbs at weigh in.

Youth between the ages of 6-21 as of January 1, 2008 are eligible to show, participants ages 6-8 must be assisted in the show ring by an adult 21 years older.

Full fit of calves allowed.

Each participant is responsible for feeding and the general care of their animal during their stay at the Fair Grounds. This includes feeding, watering and removing of droppings the animal makes.

Classes will be awarded ribbons. Grand and Reserve Champion awarded rosettes

Owners of unruly calves will be asked to remove their animal from the ring (safety is first priority).

Each exhibitor must assume liability in case of livestock injury or death. JMS Cattlemen’s Association or Macon County Fair does not assume any liability.

When questions arise that are not covered specifically by the above rules, the decision of the JMS Heifer Committee in consensus with Macon County Fair will be final.

Participant Information
Participants from Macon County must check Livestock in by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17. Participants from Jackson and Swain County may check their Livestock in at the above time or they may elect to check in on Saturday, September 20 by 8:00 a.m. Animals from all three counties will leave their animals on display until the closing of Fair activities. Grand Champion will remain on display until the closing of all Fair activities.
Rules & Regulations
- Classes will be divided by heifer’s natural age.
- Heifers must be tagged for identification. All heifers must be shown with halters.

- Show day preparation of cattle will be limited to clipping, bathing and blow drying. No adhesives, oils or other substances may be placed on the animal for show.
